Is Alpine MRD-M605 amplifier good to pair up with JL W6v2?

Q) I've read up on my stuff...and the MRD-M605 can do 400w at 4ohms which is ideal for the JL sub. But if anyone out there knows more audio then me, please correct me. For example, should I get an amplifier that does more than the sub to be on the safe side? I was also wondering if anyone else out there has a W6 and has picked an Alpine amplifier to go with, if so, what have you got? Thanks... If the Alpine MRD-M605 isn't the one to go for...which Alpine should I buy? By the way, I'm in search for an Alpine mono.

A) What you need to understand is that the W6v2 is a dual voice coil sub with 4-ohm voice coils. That means it's not a 4-ohm sub; it can be an 8-ohm sub or a 2-ohm sub. Therefore the MRD-M605 isn't really a good amp for it; it's overpowered for a single sub, underpowered for a pair. If you're just running one sub, then the Alpine MRP-M450 is a perfect match. If you plan to run two of these subs, then it's tougher to find a good match in an Alpine amp, but you could just run a second MRP-M450 for the second sub. It's a nice amp for the price.

how do i install an alpine amplifier to a sony xplode stereo?

A) The same way you would install a sony amp to a sony stereo. They are not racists! Doesn't matter what the brand name is.

why would a 400 watt 4 channel Alpine amplifier cut out when the bass reaches low frequencies?

Q) It is powering 4 mid range 6x8's and 2 10" woofers. Mids through the A side and woofers through the B side. No bridging on either side.

A) Well it could be many reasons. One is that your gain is up to the maximum and when certain frequencies are to high to amplify, the amp just cut the sound wave peak that are outside it's gain range. Other reason may be that your amp is working at full capacity causing overheating thus, the amp shut down to prevent damage. If that's the cause replace it for a more powerful amp.

I have a PDX-1.1000 Alpine Car Amplifier and im going to power 2 12" subs at 500 watts each.?

Q) I need a amplifier wiring kits which one should i get and what type of gauge?

A) It's a very efficient amplifier (over 80% according to one test), so its current requirements aren't as high as some other 1000 watt amps. A 4-gauge wire should be fine. For well-priced, very good quality amp wire kits I'd look at KnuKnoceptz: http://www.knukonceptz.com/productMaster.cfm?Category=Amp%20Installation%20Kits

Amplifier for a 12" alpine type-x sub?

Q) I need an amplifier to power 1 (one) 12" alpine type-x subwoofer. I don't know what to get and i want to spend under $210 if at all possible. Please help with any suggestions, or where i can buy it.

A) http://spkrbox1.spaces.msn.com/default.a... for real "sound" advice. Your system won't mean squat without a well designed box to put your subs in. Some manufacturers have recommendations as to dimensions of various types of boxes. It is best to find someone who builds boxes if you go with something other than a sealed box. You should always match up RMS (Root Mean Square) watts of Subs and amp per channel as well as impedance's(resistances). If your amp is rated at 4Ω don't subject it to 2Ω, it will fry. Here is the formula for subs in parallel: Z = 1 / (1/sub1 + 1/sub2 + 1/sub3 + ....) For series, just add them up (sub1 + sub2 + ...). You can mix and match these equations to get the right impedance required by your amp. Example: 4 subs @ 4Ω each. If I connect two in parallel and the other two in parallel and tie the two pairs in series, I would have a total impedance(resistance) of 4Ω. So to the amp, it's just one sub. You should use a capacitor as well. Recommend for every 500 watts MAX you use a .5 Farad cap Example: 1000 watts MAX - 1 Farad cap Try http://www.soundomain.com/shop you can find some really good deals, and this site is manufacturer certified. VERY IMPORTANT WHEN SHOPPING ON-LINE!!! You will also need what's called a "line level converter" if your stock head unit doesn't have RCA outputs or your amp doesn't have high-level inputs. If you like I can send you some plans for reference. My plans are for a 4-th order band pass bass box that holds two 12's. Also included are java calculators you can use to figure parallel and series values given Ω values. Just e-mail me sparky3489@yahoo.com My system Blaupunkt TSw1200 subs with a Sony Xplōd XM2200GTX. My amp is 1200 watts (200 watts RMS X 2), subs are 600 watts each (200 watts RMS), cap is 1.2 Farad SPL is about 112 db Total cost(so far) = $410

i m trying to connect Alpine MRPF450 Amplifier (200 watt 4channel) with one kenwood 12" sub- W3010?

Q) what you think it will work good and i will have good sound quality .

A) Most 4-channel amps cannot be bridged down to one channel. That amp is a 4/3/2 channel and is 200 watts RMS x 2 bridged output at 4 ohms (4-ohm stable in bridged mode). If you had two of those subs, you'd be in bussiness.

which box and amplifier for ALPINE SWX-1242D?

A) If you place a single sub in a 0.9 cubic foot box, it will have a Q of 0.5 and resonant frequency of 42 Hz. This assumes you wire both voice coils in parellel. Doing so reduces your nominal impedence to 2 ohms. Whatever amp you use needs to be able to handle that load. If you're using 2 subs, make sure to double internal volume, and wiring all 4 voice coils in parallel reduces them to 1 ohm. You can wire them in series-parallel, instead, with leaves there impedence unaltered. Keep in mind, if you don't use both voice coils, you'll need to increase internal volume to more than 5 cubic feet.

Can an Alpine MRP-M350 amplifier be wired in parallel to power a 4 ohm subwoofer at 2 ohms?

A)

I have an Alpine MRP-M650 amplifier and i need get subwoofers. What should i buy?

A) Since that amplifier is rated for 600 watts RMS at 2 ohms, then if you want two subwoofers you should pick either 4-ohm single voice coil subs or 2-ohm dual voice coil subs. Each sub should be rated for close to 300 watts RMS, which eliminates many single voice coil designs. If you want to stick with Alpine, you can get Type R or Type S subs with 2-ohm dual voice coils: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-5zuWYPHZqua/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=520&I=500SWS1223 http://www.crutchfield.com/S-5zuWYPHZqua/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=520&I=500SWR1222 If you're careful, you could use that amp with two Alpine Type E subs, though they're not rated for quite as much power as the amp can deliver. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-5zuWYPHZqua/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=520&I=500SWE1242

Have (2) 12" Alpine Type R Subwoofers (SWR-1221D) - What is the Best Amplifier to Power them?

Q) I have (2) 12" Alpine Type R (SWR-1221D) Subwoofers. I am wondering which amplifier would allow me to use them at their full potential. Right now I have a Rockford Fosgate 351m amplifier but I don't believe that I am getting the most out of my subwoofers with this amplifier.

A) I have an ALL Alpine system (HU, components in front, coaxial in back, 2 amps and 2 subs) I have those same subs and I am running them with the MRD-M605 and they are LOUD!!!!! The cleanest power I've ever heard! You can run them with one or if you want huge bass get two, one for each sub. You will be afraid to turn it up!

What year was the Alpine MRV-T420 amplifier produced?
